Fundamentals of Intrusion systems

This foundational course is designed to introduce participants to the essential concepts, components, and operation of modern intrusion detection systems. The course is ideal for beginners, junior technicians, or security personnel looking to understand how intrusion alarm systems are designed, installed, and maintained.

Participants will gain knowledge of key system components—including control panels, sensors, detectors, keypads, communication modules, and alarm outputs.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

- Understand the purpose and basic operation of intrusion alarm systems.

- Identify and describe the function of system components (e.g., PIRs, door contacts, control panels).

- Differentiate between system types: wired, wireless, hybrid.

- Understand zoning concepts and create simple intrusion system layouts.

- Conduct basic system tests and identify common faults.
